Why do I attend Lakeside?
When we first began looking for churches in Richmond, we hoped to find a church with an intimate atmosphere where we could start a family. As soon as we arrived at Lakeside Baptist, we knew that we had found the right place. Everyone here is so friendly that we immediately felt like we belonged as a part of the church family.
The traditional worship service is exactly what we were looking for, and we found a Sunday school class that makes us truly excited about bible study. As soon to be parents, we are also looking forward to our child being able to participate in the youth activities available. If you are looking for a church home, then please pay Lakeside Baptist a visit. We hope you will be as happy here as we are.

It seems like I have been at Lakeside most of my life. My family joined Lakeside in the fall of 1957. It has been a joyous but bumpy ride. We have lots of fond memories: our boys making their professions of faith; their baptisms; their first communions; along the way, the Queens’ attendants in GA coronations, they really looked good in their little white suits. As I watched our boys grow in statue and spirituality, their father and I grew too. We owe a lot to Lakeside Baptist Church. Like most people, we are not perfect but we try. We are grateful that Lakeside people have accepted us with all our faults. We do feel loved. Lakeside is one place where you can be you, whoever you are and people love you in spite of it.

Fortunately for me I was born into a Christian family so when I joined Lakeside Baptist Church at the age of eleven, I was already a baptized believer in Christ. Through dedicated teachers at Lakeside, I gained the Christian maturity needed to become a useful vessel in God’s kingdom. In Training Union I not only learned to speak publicly about my faith, but the Lord introduced me to my husband of 45 years.
Two sons and three grandsons later, I am still blessed to be included as a member of the Lakeside family. My church family has always wrapped their arms around me as we have cried together, laughed together, prayed together and worked together. What a privilege to worship our Lord with such wonderful Christian people!

Lakeside Baptist Church has been a big part of my life since 1949 when I began to attend faithfully with my family. It is where I first learned about Jesus, was baptized, sang all the old hymns, heard about brave missionaries and was loved by the congregation who watched me grow up and go off to college.
They were there when I wed my husband at Lakeside and they continued to care for me as they watched my children become adults and marry in the same chapel. This church has played a huge role in my life and I am grateful for all the Christian members, both then and now, who make it a place of active believers.
